UFA’s February 2025 Calendar Connecting with nature, birds, and each other
We will have our usual beautification efforts, removing English ivy and other vines from trees and giving you the opportunity to be a Weed Warrior! Other ways to appreciate the beauty that surrounds us are the Franklin Park Winter Tree Walk and the Great Backyard Bird Count. Both programs will increase your appreciation for Mother Nature’s gifts — and the gift of Franklin Park.

WEED WARRIOR GARDEN PARTIES
UFA continues to host gardening events that help restore the health of the land in and around our neighborhood. Join the good work that Franklin Park is doing! Tasks vary, but loppers, shovels, clippers, trowels, and other assorted garden gear is welcome. See the calendar above for locations and times. Meeting locations are listed below.
Other things to wear and bring — Weather-appropriate clothing and comfortable shoes with a good tread appropriate for walking through a wooded area with uneven surfaces. Long sleeves and pants. Hats and sunglasses are always helpful. Gloves are a must!! Some extra gloves will be available, but sizes are limited. Bug spray and water — even in cooler weather — are recommended. Ivy wash will be available. Bring walking sticks for stability if you have them – a couple are available for use. All participants will be asked to sign in and instructions will be given for clearing targeted invasive species.
