Spring/Summer/Fall 2024 Caring for Neighborhood Forests and Gardens

We’re still here, and we still care! (UFA) continues to host gardening events that help restore the health of the land in and around our neighborhood. Please join us as you are able…or just wave or honk as you go by to let us know you’re with us in spirit!

Tasks at each area will be different, but as always, loppers, shovels, clippers, trowels, and other assorted garden gear are always welcome.

Other things to wear and bring Weather-appropriate clothing and comfortable shoes with a good tread appropriate for walking through a wooded area with uneven surfaces. Long sleeves and pants. Hats and sunglasses. Gloves are a must!! Some extra gloves will be available, but sizes are limited. Bug spray is always preventive and highly recommended. Ivy wash will be available. Bring walking sticks for stability if you have them – a couple are available for use. Water is always a good idea! Moistened neckties during the summer heat are helpful.

All participants are asked to sign in and instructions will be given, including for clearing any targeted invasive plant(s).
