UFA Spring Clean-up

Neighborhood entrance from Old Dominion Drive

Saturday March 19th 10:00 am - 12:30 pm

The Urban Forest Alliance is teaming up with the Franklin Area Citizens Association to clear a targeted area at one of the entryways to Franklin Park. This is part of a larger effort by the UFA to clean up and create sustainable native plant gardens at two entries to our neighborhood, one along Old Dominion and the other at Birch Road. These two areas are public rights of way that have become overgrown, unsightly, and, well, just plain trashy.

What to wear and bring — Clothing and comfortable shoes with a good tread appropriate for walking through a wooded area. Long sleeves and pants, hats, and sunglasses. Gloves and bug spray are a must!! Barrier cream will be available. Walking sticks if you have them for stability – a few are available for use. Water is always a good idea!

Safety vests will be provided, as will disposal bags. Some loppers and cutters will be available; however, we appreciate additional equipment if you are able to bring some.

Gather – at the intersection of Massachusetts Ave and Vermont Avenue. Instructions for clearing vines from trees will be given.

Want to help? We’d love to have you!
